Alison Carrinski

Associate, San Francisco

Alison advises and represents public sector clients in the areas of employment law and labor relations.  Alison has experience representing public sector employers in disciplinary hearings and advising employers in matters related to the FLSA.  Alison co-authors the firm's monthly newsletter, Education Matters.

Before joining Liebert Cassidy Whitmore, Alison was a Benefits Advisor for the United States Department of Labor where she counseled employers on responsibilities and rights under COBRA and HIPAA laws.  Alison also clerked for the Honorable R. Marc Kantrowitz of the Appeals Court of Massachusetts, where she conducted legal research for criminal and civil cases, and drafted and edited decisions on various areas of law.

While attending law school, Alison represented juvenile applicants before immigration and family courts.  She also served as a legal intern in the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, where she drafted briefs regarding issues of discrimination based on national origin in hiring and recruitment.

  • Schultz v. City of Eureka (2010) - The City of Eureka terminated Fire Captain Michael Schultz for failing to conduct a safety inspection and then lying about it to his supervisor.
